New Blogsite

I haven’t blogged properly for quite some time now. The reason being is that I am right at the middle of designing and building my brand new bespoke blogsite! In fact I am hoping to launch within the next week, all being well!

When I started out in this business, I was given lots of advice from various professionals and people in the business about ‘what I needed to start a successful photography business’. I quickly rushed into decisions that were, in hindsight, probably not the best solution for me. To date I have had two website and four different styles of blog! My head is still spinning, I don’t know about yours!

2010 was a great year for me in so many ways. I feel so fortunate to have found and submerged myself into a new creative environment I adore and treasure. I have such an appetite to learn and grow as an individual and as a photographer. The highs and the lows of the last 18 months have really helped me achieve so much already. I have learnt lots of valuable lessons and as I reflect on this time, I feel truly blessed and the most content I think I have ever been in my life:)

Here’s a quick sneak peek at my new blogsite. I have lots of personal projects and exciting ideas for 2011. All of which will be shared on my site.

I hope you will stay with me on this journey as I continue to stretch my creative wings.

Over a year ago I met up with another aspiring photographer on a training course in Cumbria. We got on really well and have stayed in touch ever since. I finally managed to head south side to met up with Lindsey and her gorgeous family last weekend!

The many colours of autumn…

I am trying to make the most of the remaining fabulous Autumn weather we are having at the moment. Getting outdoors as often as possible with my gorgeous clients!

Had a lovely session this week with little Freya and her mum Emma. Little girls from approx. 4 upwards are generally a real pleasure to work with and love posing for the camera, love it…enjoy:)

Lizzy & Robert’s Big Day ♥♥

Lizzy and Rob’s wedding last weekend was such a romantic affair. From their pre-wedding shoot is was clear to me that these guys were head over heels in love with each other and with their little son Joseph. The wedding was booked for Autumn as Liz (being a photographer herself) loves the colours and textures that this season has to offer. We were all blessed with a beautiful sunny day and it all went without incident.

Lizzy’s dress was from Because I Love You, the flowers were made by Harrisons Florists and the vintage car was hired from Carol’s Wedding Cars. Also a big thank you to the staff at St. Peter’s Church and to James at The Monton House Hotel, who even remembered to feed me during the wedding breakfast… yum!

Both bride and groom were relaxed and continued to smile all day. The speeches were hilarious… Rob’s brother, (who is an Art Teacher by trade) did a stirling job of stitching Rob up. Everyone had a great day, including myself. Catch up with you guys real soon.

Alex & Gareth’s Big Day ♥♥

I have been itching to post this blog for the last few weeks and now that the happy couple are back from their amazingly romantic honeymoon in Italy, I have been given the green-light:)

You may have remembered Alex and Gareth from their Pre-Wed shoot I did a few months ago. A couple totally in love and focussed on having their big day relaxed and enjoyed by all of their friends and families!! Alex looked stunning with a Grecian style wedding gown from Eternal Brides, and Gareth didn’t look so bad him self! The stunning English vintage style flowers were done by ‘Emma Templeton Flowers’ (07890565568) and the beautiful Peacock Cake was made by Diva Cakes . I was assisted on the day by the very talented Mr Daniel Eden. Dan has been a great source of support for me over the last few months, so glad we met.

My boy ♥

Us photographers are often caught talking and thinking about “good light”. Personally I am becoming slightly obsessed with chasing it!! I often drool over American and Australian photographers blogs, wishing that one day, maybe one day, I might be able to shot something close to what they manage to capture… check this out…

It is always a great boost when you manage to pick the right location at the right time of day with the right light. I managed to do this today. I thought it was about time I put a few new shots of my baby boy up on the blog. So with my newly purchased 1.4f lens I decided to see what I could get.

Folio has landed!

Finally my 1st ever sample album has arrived:)

After much deliberation, I decided to go for a digital album produced by Folio Albums and am feel so chuffed with myself that I made the right decision. Stewart and the team over at Folio have been so patient and understanding, and after various re-designs we both felt happy that the finished product would do us both justice.

Recently launched Folio Albums, aim to create a really high quality fine art album. An album with amazing print quality, beautiful papers and fine leather covers. Also being concerned about the impact they have on the environment they, and in-turn myself feel it important that our albums have a minimal impact on the environment. There is a choice between 10 different leathers and two types of paper, all of which are v.attractive. I decided to go with the ‘Plum Contemporary Leather’ for my sample, as it tones in with the grooms Gucci suit!! Nice:)

Two cheeky cherubs…

I had the pleasure of meeting two lovely little boys this week that go by the name of Raffi and Luca, beautiful names I think you’ll agree. At 18 months old, they are fast on their feet and literally don’t sit still for a second. Helped by their cousin Amy, I managed to pin them down just enough time to get a few snaps!
